A+mazing Teacher: Holly Luther of Loyd Star
Published 5:00 pm Thursday, April 14, 2022
Holly Luther became a teacher because she loves children. And as an assistant kindergarten teacher at Loyd Star Attendance Center for the last five years, Luther has had a chance to watch many of her students blossom.
“I love watching the kids learn and be excited about learning,” she said.
Because of her devotion and love, Luther was named the A+mazing Teacher for the month of April.
And she feels she has learned from the best. Teacher Jessie Case is someone she admires and finds that admiration bolsters her professional as well as personal life.
“She is the perfect teacher,” Luther said. “Her love for the kids is amazing and she’s a true friend.”
It hasn’t always been easy.
“COVID-19 was hard on us all,” Luther said. “The kids struggled and are still struggling because of it.”
However, Luther has high hopes for the children under her care.
“I love what I do and will continue as a K-5 assistant as long as I can.”
She said she was “so honored” to be chosen by the community as an A+mazing Teacher.
“Thank you to those who nominated me,” she said. “A special thanks to those who voted.”
Welcome to the A+mazing Teachers 2022, where the Daily Leader celebrates teachers all year long through nominations from the public. Nominations were open through Feb. 17 and voting occurred Feb. 18-28.
The teacher with the most votes receives a $50 gift card.
