Waitr, the food delivery service, has come to Brookhaven.

The idea of food delivery is changing in Lincoln County. Waitr, a popular delivery service, has established itself in the area.

A number of restaurants have already agreed to conduct business with Waitr. Many of the restaurants are locally owned, but there are a couple of chain restaurants on the list as well.

Those include The Shack at 550, McDonalds, Los Parrilleros, Broma’s Deli, The Cookbook, Jack’s Coffee and Cream, Serio’s Pizzeria, Cracker Barrel, Mitchell’s Special Events and Catering, Poppa’s Buffet & Grill, The Crouton, K & B Seafood, The Fish Fry, Galley Grub, Chism’s Diner and Magnolia Blues BBQ.

Waitr works with the business and uses its own drivers to complete deliveries. Customers can order through the Waitr application on their phones and have food delivered to their homes.

Jack’s Coffee and Cream now offers Waitr delivery alongside their existing delivery option. Assistant Manager Gayton Johnson said Waitr reached out to the shop late last year.

“We were one of the later people to get it,” Johnson said.

Johnson said a Waitr representative visited the shop to see if the business would be interested.

“They just came around door to door and asked if we wanted to set it up,” Johnson said. “It was pretty straightforward.”
