Lincoln County cleanup schedules announced

Keep Lincoln County Beautiful has scheduled a cleanup event for March pending the weather.
On Monday, the Lincoln County Board of Supervisors met and discussed dates for a cleanup event for the spring. The event has been scheduled for March, with each district having a weekend set aside.
The event will start March 4-6 and conclude April 1-3. The cleanups will go in order by district, beginning with District 1. Each district will have Thursday through Saturday to drop off things needing disposal.
Certain items will not be accepted for disposal, such as paint, oil and hazardous waste. Commercial waste and commercial tires will not be accepted as well. There will be no scavenging allowed.
Locations have not been confirmed for this year’s cleanup. In years past, cleanups took place at the following locations: Jack Morris Gas, Keystone Ballpark, K&S and Case Grocery.
Manpower for the event is currently light, as there are not many trustees in the Lincoln County Jail.
“Trustees are a major part of our cleanup,” Board President Eddie Brown said. “We couldn’t do what we do without them.”
The 2020 event was canceled due to COVID-19.
