COVID Update: Lincoln County reports 1 new death Monday

Two new coronavirus deaths were reported in Mississippi for Monday, one in Lincoln County. The other was in the northern part of the state, in Tippah County.
The Mississippi State Department of Health reported 1,167 new COVID-19 cases as of 6 p.m. Sunday.
Lincoln County now has had 2,344 positive cases of the virus and 74 deaths. Fifty-two new cases have been reported since Friday morning.
MSDH has recorded 139,944 confirmed cases and 3,646 confirmed deaths. There have been 55,556 probable cases and 765 probable deaths. The state presumes 154,669 of the total 195,500 cases have recovered as of Sunday night — 79.11% of the total confirmed and probable infections recorded in the state to-date.
The United States has reported more than 18 million cases and 319,422 deaths — a death rate of 1.78%.
Worldwide, 76.9 million positive cases and 1.7 million deaths have been reported — a fatality rate of 2.21%. The World Health Organization presumes 43.4 million infected persons have recovered from the virus.
Testing
Testing is available in Brookhaven at King’s Daughters Medical Center. The COVID screening site is located behind the Emergency Room and will be open to the public 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday and 10 a.m-2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Call 601-835-9455 to make an appointment.
Testing is also available for those without health insurance, on Mondays from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. outside the Lincoln County Health Department, 1212 Northpark Lane NE, Brookhaven. Interested persons should call 601-496-7200 before arriving. Testing is also available this week Wednesday-Friday.
