Brookhaven Country Club and Brookhill on Natchez will merge into one entity as of Nov. 1.

The Clubs at Ole Brook, as they will be collectively called, will officially open under its new name Monday. BCC will also undergo a name change to The Club at Ole Brook.

Brookhaven native Jeff Henning, general manager for the club on Country Club Road, said he is excited about all the changes.

“There’s a lot going on. We’re wanting to have an identity change to a full-service, healthy living, healthy activities facility,” Henning said. “We truly expect to have a membership plan for everyone, from all-inclusive to just a single member. We think we have plans to fit everybody’s wants, needs and pocket book.“

Members of each club will be permitted to use both facilities under their current membership plans from Nov. 1 until Dec. 31. New plan information will be sent out during November and December that will take effect Jan. 1. Past members of both clubs will be required to update new paperwork.

BCC members may use the Brookhill tennis courts and Brookhill members may use the BCC golf course and tennis courts with no additional charge during the two-month transition. A $20 cart fee will apply to non-members.

Smartphone apps will be used to schedule tee times or tennis court reservations.

Other changes include: new membership plans; overlay asphalt parking in front of The Ole Brook clubhouse; LED lighting for tennis courts and parking lots; new golf turf equipment; a shade sail structure for The Ole Brook tennis court pavilion; new tennis windscreens at both facilities; more upgraded golf carts; improvements to the golf range and clubhouse; Brookhill tennis court pavilion upgrades; and water, ice and restroom facilities brought to the courts.

“There will be an investment in new maintenance equipment, and we’re going to change some of the layout and design of the clubhouse,” Henning said. “We will relocate the pro shop and will have a short-order grill service.”

Improvements to the golf course will begin Monday at the club Henning said has been a lifelong fixture for him.

“I’ve been a member of the country club basically for my whole life,” he said. “I’ve always enjoyed the place, so it’s kind of a passion of my own to get it back to something we can be proud of.“

The goal of the merger and upgrades is to have a two-part experience that the people of Brookhaven can enjoy and be happy with, Henning said.

“We are trying to make it a better product for our members,” he said, “a product that the entire town wants to be a part of and be involved in.”
