The rate of coronavirus cases continues to stay low as Mississippi enters flu season.

Due to a delay within the Mississippi Department of Health, the most recent numbers available by press time were from Monday — 215 new cases and no new deaths. This data is from Sunday’s reported numbers.

There were 122 current long-term care facility outbreaks. An outbreak is when a single confirmed COVID-19 infection is found in an LTC facility resident or more than one infection is found in employees or staff in a 14-day period.

In Lincoln County, there were 20 new coronavirus cases, with the total standing at 1,156. There were no new deaths. There were 142 total LTC outbreaks and 32 total LTC deaths. This has not changed since last reported Friday.

The daily number of Mississippians hospitalized for the coronavirus has been stable, with the total standing at 427. Of these, 128 are in intensive care and 64 are on ventilators.

Statewide, there have been 100,703 COVID-19 cases and 3,013 COVID-19 related deaths. MSDH presumes 90,577 individuals have recovered from the virus.

More than 900,000 tests have been conducted for detection of the virus statewide, with the total at 904,005 Out of that total, 796,968 have been for positive detection of the virus, 40,048 have been for antibodies and 66,989 have been for antigens.

Testing is still available at King’s Daughters Medical Center. The COVID screening site is located behind the Emergency Room and will be open to the public 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday and 10 a.m-2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
