Brookhaven’s Stan Foster has been elected to serve on the Copiah-Lincoln Community College Foundation Board.
Foster was selected to serve on the Foundation Board for Co-Lin. Each year, new members are nominated annually and voted on by the current board members.
“I am honored to have been asked to serve on the Board,” Foster said. “Co-Lin has always been a leader in education and economic development and I welcome the opportunity work along such an esteemed group.”
Foster is a graduate of Mississippi State University. He holds a bachelor’s degree in fisheries management and a master’s degree in business administration and finance.
He has worked in the banking industry for more than 25 years. Foster currently is community bank president for Trustmark National Bank in Brookhaven.
Besides his newly elected position on Co-Lin’s board, Foster also serves on the board and is chairman for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes Southwest Mississippi District.
He is a member and past president of the Krewe of Ceres, a member and past president of the Brookhaven/Lincoln County Rotary Club and member and past president of the Brookhaven Lincoln County Chamber of Commerce. Foster also serves on the Mississippi School of the Arts advisory board.
In the past, Foster has also served on the Brookhaven School District planning committee, the Entergy Southern Advisory Council and the Exchange Club Board.
He has been married to his wife Sarah for 20 years. They have two children, Wil and Meg. Meg will be attending Co-Lin in the fall.
The Fosters are active in First Baptist Church Brookhaven, where Foster serves as a Sunday school director, teacher and Dave Ramsey course facilitator. Foster also serves as a coach for Brookhaven Dixie Youth Baseball.
The Co-Lin Foundation is a nonprofit organization that serves to raise funds for the college. A 25-member board of directors governs the foundation.
“We are so pleased to welcome Stan to the Foundation Board,” Executive Director Angela Furr said. “Co-Lin has a long-standing affiliation with Trustmark, and we look forward to continuing that relationship and utilizing Stan’s experience as we work together to raise funds in support of the college and our students and faculty.”
