MSA graduate and “American Idol” finalist Jasmine Murray is set to perform two free shows at the Mississippi Spring Fest and Fair Wednesday and Thursday.

Murray, 27, is also a past Miss Mississippi, having finished in the Top 10 in the Miss America program. As a contemporary Christian artist, the 2010 graduate of the Mississippi School of the Arts regularly tops the music charts in that genre. She has appeared on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” and “Live! With Regis & Kelly” and performed at the K-Love Awards, where she was nominated for four awards. Her hit single, “Fearless,” was nominated for Breakout Single and Song of the Year and the Mississippi singer was also nominated for Artist of the Year and Female Artist of the Year. She recently performed on a K-Love cruise.

Murray will perform Wednesday night, which is Youth Night, and again Thursday for Ladies’ Night. Local singer Andi Cotten will open for Murray Thursday. Both shows are in the multi-purpose building at the Lincoln Civic Center. The shows are free to the public.

Mitchell Brothers is returning with its thrill rides that promise loops, spins and tosses, and also the classics like the Ferris wheel and swings.

Armbands allowing unlimited rides will be sold. Prices change based on the night, said Executive Director Quinn Jordan. Advance tickets for armbands are available for sale at The Daily Leader for $20 each and can be used any night. That’s a 20 percent discount on the Friday and Saturday night prices, Jordan said.

• Wednesday: Youth night. Midway open 4:30-9:30 p.m. Armbands are $15.

Teams booths for Relay For Life of Copiah-Lincoln will be set up under the covered arena. A survivors’ banquet begins with registration at 5:30 p.m. in the multi-purpose building. All area survivors are encouraged to come out and enjoy a free meal courtesy of Lincoln County Farm Bureau. The opening ceremony for Relay For Life is 7 p.m. The Bridge Band will perform at 8 p.m. and a luminaria ceremony is at 9 p.m. Lawn chairs are allowed under the covered arena for those who don’t want to sit in the bleachers.

• Saturday, April 6: Military Day. Midway open from 1-4 p.m. with $15 armbands in honor of military and special service members. Armbands are $25 from 4-10:30 p.m.

• Sunday, April 7: Midway open from 1-8 p.m. Armbands are $15.

Besides the midway, Mitchell Brothers is also bringing the familiar fair favorites like corn dogs, funnel cakes, fried Oreos, Italian sausages, chicken and shrimp on a sticks, candy apples, cotton candy, popcorn, burgers and fries. K&B Seafood will be boiling crawfish nightly and The Doll’s House will have a booth, as well.
