A Lincoln County man prepping his property for deer season found a dead body in his tree stand Thursday, officials said.

Lincoln County Coroner Clay McMorris said an autopsy on the unidentified deceased male is scheduled for Monday, and he hopes to have a name and cause of death after further investigation later in the week. The body was found in a deer stand on private property, with no weapons or substances nearby.

“They’re not supposed to be found there, know what I mean?” McMorris said. “Nobody knows who he is. Someone just happened to find him.”
