Kyle and Terri Hux announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter, Katie Loren Hux, of Brookhaven, to Charles Edwin Johnston, of Brookhaven. She is also the daughter of the late Kim Hux.

He is the son of William and Camille Johnston, of Brookhaven.

The bride-elect is granddaughter of Dot Smith and the late Kenneth Smith, of Bogue Chitto; and Merle Hux and the late C.M. Hux, of McComb.

Miss Hux is a graduate of Enterprise Attendance Center, and Southwest Mississippi Community College with an associate’s degree in nursing.

She is employed as a registered nurse at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Brookhaven.

The prospective groom is the grandson of the late C.C. and Rilla Smith, of Brookhaven; and the late Robert and Anne Johnston, of Clinton.

Mr. Johnston is a graduate of Naaman Forest High School, Garland, Texas; and Louisiana Technical University with a bachelor’s degree in marketing.

He is employed as an area manager with U-Haul in Jackson.

The couple will exchange vows on Saturday, Jan. 20, 2018, at 6 p.m. at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Bogue Chitto. A reception will follow immediately at the church.

All friends and family are invited to attend the wedding and reception.
