Malcolm Reese ‘Mack’ Massey

Funeral services for Malcolm Reese “Mack” Massey, of Raymond, are Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2018, at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Brookhaven with burial at Riverwood Memorial Park. Rev. Greg Warnock and Dr. Jon Daniels will officiate the services. Riverwood Family Funeral Service in Brookhaven is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation will be Monday, Jan. 15, 2018, from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home and will continue Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2018, from 1 p.m. until time of service at the church.

Mr. Mack, 87, died Thursday, Jan. 11, 2018. He was born March 23, 1930, in Dentville, to Clarence and Ruth Leggett Massey. He was retired from the U.S. Army Reserve as a lieutenant colonel after serving for 24 years. He was also a Southern Baptist pastor and served all across Mississippi and Louisiana for over 60 years. He was a member of the Lion’s Club, Shriners, and Freemasons. He was also an exceptional artist and loved painting and photography. He played golf, dominoes and cards and enjoyed drinking coffee as well as performing magic tricks. He was truly an amazing man who will be missed dearly by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Georgia Polk Massey; parents; sister, Wanda Higdon; and nephew, Kelly Higdon.

Survivors are his daughter, Vicki Daniels and husband, Jon; grandsons, Reese Daniels and wife, Allison, and Russ Daniels; granddaughter, Rachel King and husband, Wesley; great-grandchildren, Dayne, Addie and Selah Daniels; nieces, Wanda Jackson and Ramona Smith; and one nephew, Hal Higdon.
