Funeral services for Gladys Watts Smith will be Wednesday, Jan 3, 2018, at Brookhaven Funeral Home (Natchez Drive) at 10 a.m. with burial to follow in the New Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery in Brookhaven. Bro. Thomas Wicker will officiate the services.

Visitation will be Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2018, from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Smith, 95, of Brookhaven, died Saturday, Dec. 30, 2017, at Silver Cross Nursing Home in Brookhaven. She was born June 20, 1922, in Franklin County, to Pearlie Watts and Evie Smith Watts. She enjoyed yard work and sewing and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husbands, J.C. Britt and Brady Smith; son, James Carroll Britt; sisters, Mavis Allen, Nita Wilson and Francis Hall; and brothers, Marvin Watts, Deroy Watts, Albert Watts and Troy Watts.

Survivors are her grandson, Chuck Britt and wife Wanda of Brookhaven; great-granddaughter, Brady Amanda Britt of Brookhaven; great-grandson, Jessie James Britt, also of Brookhaven; sisters, Mary Alice Strong and Helen Huffman; and a host of friends.
