Funeral services for Evelyn G. Roper, of McCall Creek, will be Saturday, Dec. 2, 2017, at Concord Baptist Church in McCall Creek, at 11 a.m. with burial to follow in the Concord Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. Willie Wright will officiate the services with Brookhaven Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will be Saturday, Dec. 2, 2017, from 9 a.m. until time of service at the church.
Mrs. Roper, 77, died Thursday, Nov. 30, 2017, at her residence with her loving family by her side. She was born Oct. 21, 1940, in McCall Creek, to Charlie C. and Josie Chisolm Rushing. She was of the Baptist faith, worked as a personnel supervisor at Wal-Mart in Brookhaven and was co-owner of Granny’s Corner in McCall Creek. She enjoyed painting, crafts, gardening and spending time with her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.
Preceding her in death were her parents; daughter, Kathleen Garvin; and sister, Claudell Rushing Mahan.
Survivors are her daughters, Genette Garvin Ratcliff of McCall Creek, Cindi Garvin Hawley of Smithdale, and Sandra Garvin Cupit and husband Gery of McCall Creek; son-in-law, David Wolff of Brookhaven; step-son, Sonny Welch of Brookhaven; step-daughter, Maria Welch Adams of Silver Creek; grandchildren, Sharee Fuller and husband Mark, Justin Auttonberry and wife Ashley, Whyndi Staggs, Keysha Hawley, Rhondah Williamson, Joey Hawley and wife Annie, Kimberly Orcutt, Brad Arnold and wife Michelle, Clifton Arnold, Elizabeth Moradmand, Stephanie Wolff Kelley and husband Jonathan, Samantha Wolff, Jennifer Wolff Pope and husband Dewayne, Heather Wolff, Summer Wolff, Jamilynn Wolff, and Jessica Wolff, Chris Wolff and wife Sabrina, Mallory Magee Mowdy and Colton Welch; 34 great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.
Pallbearers are Brad Arnold, Joey Hawley, Justin Auttonberry, Clifton Arnold, Chris Wolff and Mark Fuller. Honorary pallbearers are Ashtin Auttonberry and Aaron Sanders.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Mrs. Roper’s name may be made to American Cancer Society.
