Brookhaven police Monday afternoon were on the lookout for two juveniles who helped break into Lipsey Middle School.
Four juveniles were apprehended when police responded to a call of a possible burglary at the school which serves fifth and sixth graders. Two were able to escape without being detained, Police Chief Kenneth Collins said.
“They broke a window out, and tried to beat a lock off,” he said.
The children were seen entering the building shortly before 5 p.m.
Students are out of school this week for fall break.
The juveniles had not been charged Monday night. Collins said the youth’s parents were contacted.
Officers questioned the four to get the names of the two who were not caught.
