I recently had the opportunity to take a close look at your city as part of the 2017 Class of Leadership Mississippi. I didn��t know much about Brookhaven before this trip, and to be honest, I did not expect it to be as exciting as some of the larger cities we have visited.

I was wrong.

Brookhaven is a wonderful town, and the thing that made the biggest impression on me was how many people we met who are totally committed to making Brookhaven the best it can be. Their passion for their community and attention to the important details was inspiring. I hope that I can bring some of those ideas back to my own community. Your city has the best qualities that small town Mississippi has to offer and has made incredible progress in historical preservation. I also couldn’t help but notice details like how clean the community is and the visible support for your public schools. There are many communities in our state that would gladly settle for having those basic steps covered and can only dream of having the level of unity that I witnessed during my visit.

I wish to thank everyone who showed us so much hospitality, and I’m already looking forward to my next visit to Brookhaven.
