FOREST (AP) — The body of a 12-year-old girl pulled underwater over the weekend at Low Head Dam on the Pearl River in Mississippi has been found.

WLBT-TV reports Mary Harrell’s body was found about 7 a.m. Tuesday in the general area where she went missing.

Harrell went under Saturday at the popular camping and swimming spot.

Scott County officials say Harrell, her 14-year-old brother and 6-year-old cousin were in the waters when strong currents began to pull them under. Authorities say the girl pushed her cousin out of harm’s way, but she was unable to escape the rough waters.
