The Brookhaven Building will open today at 8 p.m. as a shelter for anyone who needs a place to stay through storms expected tonight.
Located at 1154 Beltline Drive, the shelter will be operated by the City of Brookhaven, said Lincoln County Emergency Management Director Clifford Galey.
It’s mainly open for those with medical needs who will require electricity, he said.
It is a no-pet shelter.
Individuals should bring any prescription medication as well as bedding and food. Chairs and tables will be provided.
