Funeral services for Rev. George Allan Cutrer, of Summit, are Wednesday, March 29, 2017, at 3 p.m. at Hartman-Jones Funeral Home in McComb. Rev. Phillip Hemby and Rev. Dixie Holder-Cummings will officiate. Burial is at Hollywood Cemetery in McComb.
Visitation is today, March 28, 2017, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home and will continue Wednesday, March 29, 2017, from 1p.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
Rev. Cutrer, 71, died Saturday, March 25, 2017 at his residence. Rev. Cutrer was born March 14, 1946, in Tishomingo. He was the son of Leslie George Cutrer and Dorothy Davis Cutrer. He worked for Mississippi Department of Transportation for 32 years as a bridge inspector. After his retirement. he worked for The Enterprise Journal as a route supervisor. He was then called into the ministry and preached at numerous churches in the area including Mt. Carmel UMC, Georgetown, Providence, Ebenezer, Sandy Hook and Bethesda UMC. He also loved to sculpt and absolutely loved to remodel his home. He loved his wife and family with all of his heart. He also served in the Mississppi National Guard.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Johnny West and his wife Carolyn West
He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Eleanor Bacot Cutrer, of Summit; birth mother, Stella West, of Adamsville, Tennesse; children, Wanda Baker, of McComb, Donna Hemby and husband Phillip, of Bogue Chitto, James Cutrer and wife Radonna, of McComb; stepchildren, Jennifer Docote and husband Jacques, of Franklinton, Louisiana, and Jason A. Jones of Garden City, Kansas, and Heather Jones Lezina; one brother, Roy West and wife Wanda, of Adamsville, Tennessee; special pet dogs, Mimi and Bella Grace and his horse, Friday; nine grandchildren, Chris Mitchell, Katie Malone, Tara Pepper, Tanner Hemby, Hannah Cutrer, Angel Slaven, Blake White, Adelina Barber and Marcel Ducote; six great-grandchildren, Nicholas Marshall, Blakelynn Malone, Abrianna Malone, Marley Kate Pepper, Hadley Rae Pepper and Elie Barber.
Pallbearers will be Jason Jones, Chris Mitchell, Jacques Ducote, Codie Barber, Jeff Waller and Charlie Wacker.
Honorary pallbearers are Joel Steele and Randy Ervin.
