Part of the proceeds from the 2016 Krewe of Ceres ball were recently presented to various local charities.
Thirteen recipients were chosen: the Berean Children’s Home, the Lincoln County Genealogical and Historical Society, the Tucker Fields of Honor Foundation, Junior Auxiliary, New Hope Missionary Baptist Food Pantry, The Doll’s House, Mississippi Scholars Program, Brookhaven Little Theatre, Brookhaven Trust, Brookhaven Animal Rescue League, Lincoln Civic Center and Brookhaven Arts Guild.
Shannon and Robin Patterson, 2016 ball chairmen, made the presentations.

This year’s 50th Anniversary Ball will be held Feb. 18 at the Lincoln Civic Center.
