Brookhaven Academy sweeps Central Private

The Brookhaven Academy Cougars participated in first-round action of the Parklane Academy Thanksgiving Holiday Tournament Monday, matching up with the Rebels and Lady Rebels from Central Private School in Baker, Louisiana.
The Lady Cougars (4-2) came out fast and never looked back charging to a convincing 44-23 win. The Lady Cougars were led by a 10-point four rebound performance from Sissy Byrd. Jana Case added nine points in her afternoon of work. Kailyn Jordan, Sophie Wilson and Anna Michael Smith each had five points to round out the balanced Lady Cougar scoring. Samantha Romero led the Lady Rebels with 15 points.
In varsity boys action, the BA Cougars (5-1) took control early on their way to a 31-13 halftime lead and coasted to an eventual 48-26 victory.
Dawson Flowers led the Cougars with 14 points and four rebounds. Dylan Winborne added 10 while Tate Felder and Ethan Nations each contributed six points respectively. Austin Weber led CP with eight points.
In junior varsity girls action, the BA JV Lady Cougars moved to a record of 7-0, cruising to a convincing 49-13 win over the Central Private Lady Rebels. Julie Anna Bartram led the Lady Cougars with 10 points followed by Abeni Fuller with eight. BA saw 12 different players put points in the scoring column for the contest.
The BA JV Cougars (5-1) held on late to pick up the win over the JV Rebels 46-40. Britton Nelson paced the Cougars with a game high 19 points. Tyler Fortenberry chipped in 12 in support to secure the win.
