Trustmark Bank’s security expert to speak Thursday

Mel Channell, senior vice-president and director of security for Trustmark National Bank of Jackson, will present a program Thursday with information about identity theft, security and fraud prevention.
Channell has lectured at the Mississippi Bankers Association Security seminars, Mississippi Prosecutors’ Conference, Mississippi Association of School Business Leaders, private businesses and law enforcement agencies in multiple states.
He has spoken on topics including internal/ external fraud, identity theft, mortgage fraud and best practices in the security industry.
Channell has more than 25 years of experience within the areas of criminal investigations, financial crimes, information security and cyber security defense. His experience also includes best practices in the security fields, fraud prevention, identity theft prevention and risk management at the corporate level.
The Widows Support Group of Brookhaven will host the meeting, which will be held Thursday at 5 p.m. at the Jimmy Furlow Senior Center.
