Meet Lydia King. Her family has been teaching for three generations, and she continues the tradition at Loyd Star Attendance Center as an English III and English IV teacher.

King said it was her mother who inspired her to teach.

“Teaching is not a job for me, but a way of life,” she said. “I can’t imagine anything else.”

She and her husband Chris King also coach the Loyd Star golf team. Their daughter Sarah Beth is also a member.

“It’s something that my whole family enjoys,” she said.

King said she’s been a fan of the New York Giants for 32 years, and she likes to encourage and support athletics among her students. Her family is also active members of the Macedonia Baptist Church.
