Funeral services for James “Dwight” Brown, of Ridgeland, are today at 1 p.m. at Hartman Funeral Home of McComb with burial in Woodlawn Cemetery in Summit.  Rev. Larry Romack will officiate.

Visitation is today from 11 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.

Mr. Brown, 53, died Friday, Aug. 19, 2016, in Ridgeland. He was born May 8, 1963, to the late Shelby Ray and Lora Martha Cothern Dunaway and adoptive parents, James W. Brown Jr. and Dorothy Jean Gatlin.

He married Brenda Beavers at a young age and together they had three children. Mr. Brown was of the Baptist faith, enjoyed camping, cooking-out, music, woodworking and the companionship of the many dogs he had throughout his life. He especially enjoyed being with his grandchildren. He was a loving father and grandfather.

Preceding him in death were his parents; one brother, Christopher Cheyenne Cothern; and one sister, Martha Pauline Beard.

Survivors are his children, Jason Dwight Brown and wife, Melissa, of McComb, James Dwayne Brown and partner, Willie, of Gulfport, and Felicia Lynn Brown Noll and husband, Chase, of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; eight grandchildren, Abbigail, Brooklyn, Jase, Hunter and Braxton Brown, Christopher, William and Emily Noll; girlfriend, Sandra Patrick; and siblings, Richard Coghlan, of Philadelphia, Diamond Loretta Jones, of Magnolia, Shirley Beard Oalmann and Elvis Ray, of New Orleans, Louisiana, Karen Dunaway, David Breeland and Randy Breeland, of McComb.

Pallbearers are Josh Tullos, Adam Reed, Josh Stringer, Michael Small, Robert Kyzar and Billy Moore Jr. Honorary pallbearers are his grandchildren.
