William Harold Reid, formerly of Brookhaven, and Richard Allen Lowther, formerly of Brunswick, Ohio, announce their engagement and approaching marriage.

Reid is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Harold Reid.

Lowther is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. William D. Lowther.

Reid is a master dog groomer and owner of a dog grooming and boarding business in Cleveland, Ohio, where he also trains bomb and drug dogs for various police departments in the area. He started the Atlanta chapter of Pets Are Loving Support, which is an organization that helps people living with HIV to care for their animals. He also competed all over the country training and showing several breeds of dogs and horses.

Lowther is a master chef, baker and horticulturist, who owns a catering business and designs cakes for weddings, parties, showers and other specialty occasions in the Cleveland area. He is the father of two daughters, grandfather of six grandchildren and has one great-grandchild due in November.

The couple will exchange vows Saturday, Sept. 10, 2016 at their home in Cleveland. A reception will follow.
