After the war, Rev. Wall entered Mississippi College in Clinton. He married his high school sweetheart, Elaine Burgess, of Brookhaven. In 1956, Rev. Wall graduated from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. In 1957, Rev. Wall was the pastor of Easthaven Baptist Church in Brookhaven. In 1962, Rev. and Mrs. Wall moved to Kalispell, Montana, where they founded and served Easthaven Baptist Church for 9 ½ years.  That church is now one of the largest Baptist churches in Montana and has sponsored 12 new churches.

In 1971, Rev. Wall moved to Clinton and served as director of church relations of Mississippi College for 21 years, where he retired in 1993. Rev. Wall served a number of churches in central Mississippi as interim pastor. He was an avid amateur photographer and used his camera extensively in his church work and service at MC.

Rev. Wall produced a patriotic multi-media program and presented it over 2,500 times in 35 states and six times in the Pentagon. This three-screen, six-projector program received awards from several states, including the George Washington Honor Medal from the Freedom’s Foundation at Valley Forge.

Chaplain (Lt. Col.) Wall wore the uniform of his country with great pride. He often told audiences that the uniform symbolized two things dear to his heart: the uniform itself, his service to his country, and the silver cross as chaplain, his service to the Lord. Rev. Wal was awarded the Mississippi Magnolia Cross fro his service in the Mississippi National Guard.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Roland B. Wall Sr. and Annie Claire Henderson Wall, of Brookhaven; and twin brother, Roland B. Wall Jr., of Brookhaven.

Survivors are his wife, Elaine Burgess Wall; children, Robert Bruce Wall and Amy Lynn Wall, all of the Jackson/Clinton area; brother, Donald Wall, of Brookhaven; and sister, Jeanne Wall Cole, of North Carolina.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Baptist Children’s Village, P.O. Box 27, Clinton, MS 39060-0027.
