MSD came out hot and scored the first five points of the contest, but Bogue Chitto rallied back with a surge of their own to trail the Bulldogs by one point after one quarter of play.
MSD secured an eight-point advantage with five minutes left in the half. But BC battled back once again and had a chance to tie the contest after Malik Richardson nailed a long-range three pointer and was fouled. In the third quarter, BC put together a 27-17 run to secure the lead at 66-57.
In the fourth, Tyler Brumfield led the charge for BC, nailing three straight three pointers to extend the Bobcats’ lead to 10 points. They held on for the win to advance to championship game against Salem.
“We came out sloppy, but were able to find a way to win. I am proud of the boys for doing something that has not been done in a long time at Bogue Chitto and that’s getting to the district championship,” said Bogue Chitto coach Mark Pitts.
