BA soccer claims two shutout wins

The Brookhaven Academy boys’ soccer team is riding a three-game winning streak with shutout victories over Parklane Academy and Central Private Monday night and Thursday night.
With the win, the Cougars improved their record to 7-4 overall on the season and 3-3 in the district action.
BA 6, Parklane 0
The Cougars clobbered the Pioneers to carry a 5-0 lead into halftime.
BA added another goal in the second half and held on for the blowout win.
The Cougars were led by Grayson Devito with two goals and Nic Cizner with a goal and an assist. Connor Griffin, Carson Rounsaville, and Keegan Smith contributed to the victory with a goal apiece.
Bryce White and Jaden Clark aided with an assist each.
BA 8, Central Private 0
The Cougars put pressure on the Central Private Rebels early and went into halftime with a 4-0 lead.
In the second half, BA continued its dominance by adding four more goals. Nic Cizner led the way for the Cougars with three goals. Connor Griffin, Grayson Devito, Bryce White, Keegan Smith and Jaden Clark contributed to the victory with a goal apiece.
Carson Rounsaville and Peyton Smith chipped in with an assist each.
The Cougars return to action on Thursday at home against Copiah Academy. The junior varsity action begins at 5 p.m., followed by the varsity game.
