The Brookhaven Academy Cougars started district play in soccer with a convincing win over Central Private Monday night.

The Cougars went into halftime with a 5-0 lead and added to it in the second to claim a 9-0 win.

BA was led by Grayson Devito with three goals and Nic Cizner had one goal and three assists. Peyton Smith finished with two goals. Bryce White, Carson Rounsaville, and Keegan Smith got in the scoring column with a goal apiece.

The Cougars earned their second shutout of the young season. The defense was led by Grant Smith, Zach Carr, Trent Cannon, and Hunter Sasser. Working as goalies were Dillon Burt and J.T. Cline.

With the win, the Cougars improve to 3-1 overall and 1-0 in district play. BA will resume action Thursday as the Cougars host Oak Forest, starting at 4:30 p.m.
