The entire congregation of First United Pentecostal Church of Wesson would like to thank you for the wonderful article published concerning our Note Burning Service (“Miracle on the Hill”) held on Oct. 22, 2015. We would like to extend a special thank you to your reporter, Kaitlin Mullins, for attending and composing such an awesome tribute regarding our founding pastor, Rev. Lloyd Thompson. To our great sorrow, Bro. Thompson passed away just five days after this service. Thankfully, his wish for our church to be free of all debt and for this even to be acknowledged with a celebration was fulfilled. Our church family continues to be inspired and motivated by Bro. Thompson’s legacy of commitment, devotion, faithfulness and love. We offer our sincere thanks again to The Daily Leader for commemorating this occasion so beautifully and honoring our beloved pastor.
