Bogue Chitto (1-9, 1-5), coached by Gareth Sartin, suffered a tough 51-6 loss last Friday to the Sacred Heart Crusaders in Hattiesburg..
The Bobcats return home for their last football contest tonight as they recognize their seniors against the Springfield Bulldogs.
The Bulldogs (1-8, 0-6), coached by Ryan Serpas, are also experiencing a rebuilding season and have lost six games in a row. Last Friday, the Bulldogs lost to Northlake Christian 14-7.
Junior running back Demariae Claiborne was the top rusher for the Louisiana-based Bulldogs with 182 yards on 25 carries.
Senior quarterback Keenan Austin completed 1-of-2 passes for 26 yards and rushed for 15 more yards on seven carries. William Barnett caught the only pass for the Bulldogs.
Defensively, John’L Fryson led Springfield with nine tackles. Dylan Wilson and Jojo Kirkland had seven tackles each.
BC’s top offensive performer against Sacred Heart was Sherman Jackson with 10 rushes for 61 yards. Kobe Roberts finished with 58 yards rushing on 12 carries. Conner Douglas had four rushes for 25 yards.
Defensively, Sherman Jackson directed the Bobcats with 10 tackles. Roberts contributed eight tackles. Trey had a interception.
My prediction: Bogue Chitto prevails 21-20.
