Funeral services for Lillie Pauline Alexander are Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2015, at 10 a.m. at Providence Baptist Church with burial in Sauls Valley Cemetery in Monticello. Bro. Bendon Ginn, Bro. Less Hughes III and Dr. David Millican wil officiate the services. Sharkey Funeral Home in Summit is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation was Monday, Oct. 19, 2015, from 5 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home and will continue Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2015, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church.

Mrs. Alexander, 88, of Jayess, died Saturday, Oct. 17, 2015, at University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson.  She was born on May 14, 1927, in Jayess, to Albert and Lillie Calhoun Lambert.

She was a member of Providence Baptist Church in Jayess. She graduated from Southwest Community College and the University of Southern Mississippi, where she earned her master’s degree. She taught elementary school for many years at a school in the Delta, Salem High School, Topeka-Tilton High School and Brookhaven Elementary. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Toxie Benjamin Rials and William Edison Bryant; infant daughter, Paula Rials; two infant sons; sisters, Melva Faye Lambert and Maurice Renfroe; and brothers, BG Lambert and AE Lambert Jr.

She is survived by her husband of 15 years, William D. Alexander of Jayess; son, Eddie Rials and wife, Suzie, of Jayess; sister, Murl Mahaffey; brothers, SC Lambert and wife, Dorothy, and Donald D. Lambert and wife, Virginia; grandchildren, Aaron Benjamin Rials and Thomas Gabel Rials;  and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Donna Dunaway, Lacy Gunnell and Erica Taylor.
