Warren Central sweeps North Pike

SUMMITT – The North Pike Lady Jaguars lost a pair of varsity doubleheader games Saturday to the Warren Central Lady Vikings in slowpitch softball action.
The Lady Vikings defeated the Lady Jaguars in a close 5-2 matchup in the first game and cruise past North Pike 13-3 in the finale.
The Lady Jags (5-10, 2-2) coached by Sonya Wallace, continue action today as they travel to play Northwest Rankin. North Pike will finish up the regular season Thursday as they visit Purvis. Junior varsity action begins at 5 p.m., followed by the varsity game at 6:15 p.m.

Whitley Howell suffered the setback on the mound for the Lady Jaguars with no strikeouts and one walk.
Skye James powered North Pike’s offense with a home run in the fourth inning. Janay Maxwell. Whitley Howell, Linley Smith and Brianna Rimes contributed a single each.

Howell absorbed her second straight loss for North Pike on the rubber with no strikeouts and one walk.
Baylee Bryant directed the Lady Jaguars at the plate with three singles. Joli Spears, Ariel Johnson, Lynsey Cooper, Smith, Howell and Maxwell each provided a single.
