Former Co-Lin standout joins Lady Wolves coaching staff

WESSON – Copiah-Lincoln Lady Wolves head softball coach Allen Kent announces the addition of Jackie Stowe Johnson, a former standout student-athlete at Co-Lin, to his coaching staff.
One of the all-time greats as a player, Johnson was part of a 2006 Lady Wolves team that won the MACJC State Championship and earned a third place finish in the NJCAA national tournament. She was named to the MACJC All-State team, the NJCAA All-Region 23 team, and a NJCAA Distinguished Academic All-American.
Johnson, a Copiah Academy product, continued her career at Delta State after graduating from Co-Lin. As a member of the Delta State softball team, she was chosen for the Lady Statesman award and picked for the Delta State Athletic Director’s Hall of Fame and chosen as an NFCA All-American Scholar-Athlete.
Johnson graduated from Delta State with a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics Education and a master’s degree in Health, Physical Education, and Recreation. Johnson has been a math instructor at Wesson Attendance Center since 2009, teaching Geometry, Pre-Calculus, Trigonometry, and Physical Education.
From 2009-2012 she served as head softball coach for the Lady Cobras. Her team won three region titles in slow-pitch and one in fast-pitch. Her 2012 team finished 2A South State runners-up. At Co-Lin Johnson will work with the pitching staff.
