The Brookhaven Academy Lady Cougars fell to the Simpson Academy Lady Cougars 3-1 Tuesday night in MAIS fastpitch softball action.

The Lady Cougars (8-10, 0-5), coached by Becky Flowers, will be in action Saturday as they host an softball tournament. Game times, opponents and schedule have not been released.

Simpson Acad. 3, BA 1 

The Lady Cougars of Brookhaven captured a 1-0 lead over Simpson in the bottom of the second inning, but the Mendenhall-based Lady Cougars rallied back in the top of the sixth inning and scored three runs to spoil BA’s first district win of the season.

Allie Summers suffered the setback on the mound for BA with two strikeouts and one walk.

Allison Livingston powered BA’s offense with two singles. Alex Rae Smith had a double. Cameron Watson, Abeni Fuller and Madi Smith hit safely.
