The Brookhaven Academy Lady Cougars captured a 5-0 win over the Bowling Green Lady Buccaneers in Saturday MAIS fastpitch softball action at Brookhaven Academy Softball field.

The Lady Cougars (8-9, 0-4) will be in action today as they host Simpson Academy. Junior varsity action begins at 5 p.m., followed by the varsity game at 6:30 p.m.

BA 5, Bowling Green 0 

Allie Summers was the winning pitcher for the Lady Cougars with six strikeouts and one walk.

Summers also powered the Lady Cougars at the plate with a double and two singles. Cameron Watson and Allison Livingston contributed a double each. Kailyn Jordan and Abeni Fuller hit safely.

In junior varsity action, the Bowling Green Lady Bucs edge BA 6-5.

Emily Claire Felder suffered the setback on the mound for the Lady Cougars with no strikeouts and two walks. Madi Smith (3K, 4BB) also pitched in relief.

Madison Moak and Abeni Fuller were the top hitters on offense for BA with two singles each. Madi Smith hit safely.
