Lawrence County takes on West Marion

Lawrence County (1-0), under the direction of second-year head coach Jaymie Palmer, started off the season with an offensive bang as it hammered the Magee Trojans 40-22 last week.
The LCHS Cougars are looking to extend their winning streak to two games when they travel to Foxworth to battle the West Marion Trojans.
West Marion, coached by Brad Duncan, captured a big 42-22 victory over the Presbyterian Christian Bobcats last week.
The Foxworth-based Trojans were powered by Josh Miller’s passing attack as he completed 14-of-17 attempts for 160 yards. Caleb Batie led all rusher with 18 carries for 118 yards.
LCHS’ top offensive performer last week was junior running back Quitten Brown with 13 rushes for 158 yards and three touchdowns. He also returned a kickoff 85 yards to paydirt. T-Tez Cole helped the Cougars’ ground attack with eight carries for 142 yards.
Defensively, Brown had a big night on other side of the football as he intercepted a pass and was among the leading tacklers.
My prediction: The Cougars survive an offensive war to win 42-35 over West Marion.
