Funeral services for Rev. Lester E. ‘Pat’ McNair were Saturday, July 25, 2015, at 11 a.m. at Beulah Baptist Church in Magee with burial in the church cemetery. Bro. Mac Phillips, Bro. Allen Smith, Bro. Buddy Keyes and Bro. Tim Sorey officiated the services. Pallbearers were Al Prince, Joe Welch, Shane Puckett, Mike Taylor, Christopher Puckett and Gary Harper. Honorary pallbearers were Nate Sorey and members of the men’s Sunday school class. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation was Friday, July 24, 2015, from 5 until 8 p.m. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Magee.
Rev. McNair, 77, died Wednesday, July 22, 2015, at Magee General Hospital. He was born Jan. 23, 1938, in Simpson County.
He served in the United States Marine Corps and was a pastor and an evangelist.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Marie Cook McNair; two brothers, Howard “Bucky” McNair and Jimmy McNair; and a sister Joyce Love.
He is survived by his wife Frances McNair of Mt. Olive; daughter, Patricia Sorey and husband, Bro. Tim of Mt. Olive; grandson, Nate Sorey; two brothers, Dr. John McNair and wife, Kathy of Carriere, Gary McNair and wife, Margaret, of Magee; sister, Diane Wigley of Braxton; and a sister-in-law, Mary McNair of Magee.
