The Brookhaven Academy administration announced that Coach Josh Watts will take over the Lady Cougars basketball program duties and continue coaching the boys program as well.

Watts replaces Mack Gardner, who resigned last spring. Gardner coached two seasons at Brookhaven Academy and helped direct the Lady Cougars to two straight MAIS State AA Tournament appearances.

Watts, starting his second season, was hired on last season to take over the boys basketball program. In a rebuilding season, Watts directed the Cougars basketball team a successful season as they finished with a 18-14 record overall. The Cougars advanced the MAIS South State AA Tournament, but were eliminated in the second round by Simpson Academy at John R. Gray Gymnasium.
