The West Lincoln faculty and coaches honored their varsity athletes with a spring banquet to recognize the football, basketball, slowpitch softball, baseball, cheerleader, fastpitch softball, tennis, golf, archery, cross county and track teams.

West Lincoln Bears Athletic Director Willie Brumfield welcomed the large crowd to the banquet that was held at the Lincoln County Civic Center.

After the meal, coaches from each sport recognized their team’s achievements during the year and players were given awards to signify their hard work.

In archery, Hope Addison and Cole Little were selected as the Gold Medalists. Timothy Stogner and Mary Beth Thornton took home the Silver Medalists honors. Kameron Case and Marisa Wallace earned the Bronze Medalists Award.

Alex Neal was honored with the Player of the Year Award and received the Golden Glove honors in baseball. Bryce Temple was selected Best Offensive Player in baseball.

Hanna Moak was honored with the Most Valuable Offensive Player and the Most Valuable Rebounding Award. Demesha Deer received the Most Valuable Defensive Player in girls’ basketball.

Ronnie Edwards received the Most Valuable Offensive Player Award. Keshaun London was recognized as the Most Valuable Defensive Player. Javian Mackabee earned the Most Valuable Rebounder in boys’ basketball.

In cheerleading, Carlie Smith was honored with the Best Team Spirit Award and Anna Hennington was selected as the Best All-Around Cheerleader.

Jason Watts took home the district, region, South State Champion and All-State honors in boys cross-country. Watts also captured the Running Bears award in both track and cross-country. He received numerous awards in both the 3200 meter run and 1600 meter run in track competition.

In football, Bryce Temple was honored with the overall Most Valuable Player Award and earned the Bear Award. Ty Forman received the Most Valuable Offensive Player Award. Lofton Sills was selected as the Most Valuable Defensive Player and took home the Defensive Line Award.

In Golf, Ty Forman got the Male Golfer Medalist. MaKayla Shelton received the Female Golfer Medalist.

Micah Redd received the Most Valuable Pitcher Award and Makennah Redd earned the Most Valuable Defensive Player honors in fastpitch softball.

In slowpitch softball, all 15-varsity players received plaques to honor their performance as back-to-back undefeated Region 7-2A champs.

In tennis, Katy Clark and Kara Clark were selected as the Most Valuable Doubles honors and were recognized as the back-to-back state champs in girls’ doubles. Sebastian Harrell received the Most Valuable Player in singles.

Coach Brumfield presented two special awards. He recognized Micah Redd as the Lindy Callahan Award nominee winner. Sebastian Harrell received the FCA Award.

In the conclusion of the ceremony, West Lincoln’s principal Jason Case thanked the athletes, coaches and families for their great season at West Lincoln.
