Dozens of believers gathered at the steps of the Brookhaven – Lincoln County Government Complex at noon Thursday in observance of the National Day of Prayer. The National Day of Prayer has been held on the first Thursday in May throughout the country since the 1950s. This year’s theme was “Lord, hear our cry.” Community and church leaders lead prayers for five building blocks of society: homes, schools, businesses, government and churches.
