Lady Jaguars end NE Lauderdale’s season

SUMMIT – The North Pike Lady Jaguars defeated the Northeast Lauderdale Lady Trojans 2-0 Tuesday night to complete the two game sweep of the best of three series in Class 4A state softball playoffs action.

The Lady Jaguars (15-9), coached by Sonya Wallace, will advance to the third round of the playoffs and the winner of the Magee/Poplarville series Friday.

North Pike 2, NE Lauderdale 0 

The Lady Jags and the Trojans battled in a scoreless contest until the bottom of the fourth inning when North Pike managed to push across to runs to take a 2-0 lead.

The Lady Jags’ defense helped their pitcher, Madison Bigner, in keeping the Lady Trojans scoreless in a seven-inning contest.

Bigner collected the shutout win for North Pike. She gave up only one hit in a four strikeout and no walk performance.
