Matthews, Alsworth lead All-Lincoln Coaches Team

The Lincoln County coaches from Bogue Chitto, Enterprise, Loyd Star and West Lincoln released their 2014-2015 All-Lincoln County Coaches Basketball Team selection.
In girls basketball, senior guard Zariah Matthews of Bogue Chitto was selected as the Most Valuable Players. Matthews averaged 16.3 points, 5.1 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 3.6 steals on the season. The Lady Cats finished the season with a 26-7 recorded overall after making a return the Big House (a.k.a. Jackson Coliseum) for the fourth time in five years.
Other members selected on Bogue Chitto’s basketball team were Christian Black, Karlie Williams and Terrah Nelson.
On the Lady Hornets squad were Marcey Givens, Jordan Shelby and Hannah Dickerson.
On the Lady Bears, Hanna Moak and Alli Mullins.
Alissa Barlow and Megan Rippy were selected for the Lady Jackets.
On the boys basketball team, the coaches selected senior forward Edrick Alsworth of Loyd Star as the teams’ Most Valuable Player.
Alsworth averaged 19.2 points, eight rebounds and three assists per game. Loyd Star finished their 2014-15 season with a 20-7 record and won the Region 7-2A crown with an 9-1 record.
Brad Jasper, Caleb Yarborough, Levi Redd and Javion Beard were also selected from Hornets basketball team.
From the West Lincoln Bears, Ronnie Edwards and Keshaun London received honors.
Jeremiah Perkins and DJ Nunnery were selected from the Bogue Chitto Bobcats.
On Enterprise’s ball club, Dwayne Pendleton and Jontavious Smith received honors.
