W.D. ‘Pud’ Waltman

Funeral Services for W.D. “Pud” Waltman are 2 p.m. on Friday, April 24, 2015 at Stringer Family Chapel with burial at Bethel Cemetery. Stringer Family Funeral Home in Hazlehurst is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Mr. Waltman, 89, died April 21, 2015 at Hardy Wilson Memorial Hospital.

He was a member of Sylvarena Baptist Church where he served as a deacon.  He was a lifetime member of the Copiah County Fair Association.  He served as constable and deputy sheriff in Copiah County for several years. Mr. Waltman raised champion Black Angus cattle.  He was a lifetime member of the Cattlemen’s Association and was a member of the Mississippi Angus Association.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Elizabeth Waltman; son, Tony F. Waltman (Kathleen); daughters, Connie Board (Steve), Patricia Hall (Robert), Barbara Crew (Ron) and Diane Stokes; sister, Juanita Fulgham (Charles) of Yazoo City; grandchildren, Tod Waltman (Erin), Rob Waltman (Sharon), Whitney Warren (Brandon), Zeke Board (Jennifer), Aaron Board, Rachel Plauche (Scott), Chad Hall (Aimi), Babs Norwood (Brian), Lee Lockhart (Greg), Patrick Hall (Hanna), Elizabeth Crew, Nikki Crew, Billy Stokes (Holly), April Stokes and Daniel Stokes; 18 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
