Lady Jags drop two in season opener

The North Pike Lady Jaguars suffered two tough losses in last Saturday contest with Harrison Central and Hancock.
Harrison Central blanked the Lady Jaguars 7-0 in the opener and Hancock edged North Pike 7-6 in the second game.
Harrison Central 7, North Pike 0
Madison Bigner suffered the setback for the Lady Jags on the mound with five strikeouts and one walk.
Madison Burge tossed the win for Harrison Central with 16 strikeouts and one walk.
Linley Smith directed the Lady Jaguars at the plate with a double. Bigner had a single.
Natalie Hogue powered Harrison Central’s offense with a home run and two singles. Kaylen Kosbab contributed two singles. Alyssa D’Elena ripped a double. Hitting safely were Jaycee Walker and Desirea Lindsey.
Hancock 7, North Pike 6
North Pike and Hancock fought in a back and forth contest as both schools scored six runs each at the end five innings of action.
Hancock managed to score the winning run in the bottom of the sixth inning to clinch the victory.
Bigner absorbed the setback for the Lady Jaguars with six strikeouts and no walks.
Brooke Barnes (6K, 0BB) and Riley Swilley (4K, 2BB) collect the win on the mound for Hancock.
Baylee Bryant, Jordan Fitzgerald and Bigner paced the North Pike’s offense at the plate with a double each. Madison Bates and Linley Smith hit a single apiece.
Lena Turner and Destiny Hariel led Hancock at the plate with a double apiece. Hitting safely were Kayian Ladner, Shania Shaw and Bradley Smith.
