The Brookhaven/Lincoln County Chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People’s youth council will host its fourth annual Black History Month program Friday at 6 p.m. at the Good Samaritan Hall on 423 East Chippewa St.
Bernetta Character, president of the NAACP’s local chapter, said that the event will feature praise dancers and the children will portray great African Americans from history, Hollywood and sports. Character said that where the group usually gets a speaker to come and speak for the event, she said the children wanted to focus on different praise dances for this year’s celebration.
