Hickman, Pace receives high honors In 5-AA All-District selection

Brookhaven Academy senior quarterback Heath Hickman was selected as the finalist for the 5-AA All-District Most Valuable Player for 2014.
Hickman finished his senior year completing 154 out of 248 passes for 1,723 yards with eight interceptions and 13 touchdowns. He also ran for 79 yards on 80 carries.
BA defensive back Garrett Pace also received honors as he was chosen to represent his school in Dec. 5 MAIS All-Star game. Pace also earned first team honors and was selected as the Most Valuable Lineman in District 5 AA.
Pace recorded 97 tackles in his senior year and had six quarterback sacks, eight hurries, two forced fumbles, one blocked punt and one interception. In the All-Star games, Pace had four tackles.
The North All-Stars defeated the South All-Star 21-13 at Jackson Prep Academy in Flowood.
Joining Hickman and Pace on the All-District first team were teammates: defensive back Trent Nettles, wide receiver William King, wide receiver Caleb Brown and running back Connor Dorman
Selected with second team honors on the All-District team for the Cougars were defensive end/wide receiver Carter Culbertson, defensive back/running back Michael Fiorella, defensive linemen Joey Rushing, wide receiver Madison Smith and defensive linemen J.T. Cline.
The Cougars concluded their season with 3-7 worksheet and finished with 1-2 record in division play under the direction of first-year head coach Blake Purvis.
