NC Central cruises past Mississippi Valley State

CLARKSDALE, Miss. (AP) – Jordan Parks scored 21 points on 10-of-11 shooting and North Carolina Central cruised past Mississippi Valley State 94-60 on Saturday.
Anthony McDonald, who transferred from MVSU, scored 18 points – including three 3-pointers – for NC Central (8-5). Dante Holmes had 14 points, Jamal Ferguson 12 and Jeramiah Ingram added 10 points as the Eagles shot 56 percent from the floor.
Jordan Washington paced MVSU with 15 points, including 10 of 10 from the line. Jeffrey Simmons had 12 points and Isaac Williams chipped in with 10.
The Delta Devils made the first two buckets of the game, but NC Central ran off nine straight points and never trailed again. A 9-2 spurt into intermission gave the Eagles a 47-30 lead at the break. The lead hit 20 on McDonald’s 3-pointer on the first possession of the second half and the rout was on.
MVSU made just 3 of 18 3-point attempts.
