Former New Sight Volunteer Fireman Captain Reuben Kahl pleaded guilty Tuesday to embezzlement, two counts of uttering forgery and two counts of misdemeanor uttering a forgery.
Lincoln County Circuit Court Clerk Dustin Bairfield said Kahl was indicted in June 2014 for stealing from the New Sight Volunteer Fire Department. He was convicted three times in 2012 and 2013.
Bairfield said Kahl was sentenced to ten years, with six suspended, four years to serve for embezzlement and four years to serve for each charge of uttering a forgery. The time is to be served concurrently, so he will serve four years total. Kahl is also required to pay two counts of restitution totaling $26,026.71 and $4,000 fine plus court costs.
