Lady Panthers devour Murrah

JACKSON – The Brookhaven Lady Panthers devour the Murrah Lady Mustangs to secure a 17-0 Region 6A/5A victory Tuesday night in slowpitch softball action.
The Lady Panthers (5-8, 2-0) will resume action Thursday as they prepare to host the Bogue Chitto Lady Cats. Junior varsity action begins at 5 p.m., followed by the varsity game at 6 p.m.
Brookhaven 17, Murrah 0
The Lady Panthers came out and dominated the Lady Mustangs early in the first inning as Ole Brook conducted an offensive hitting in Jackson and scored 13 runs.
Brookhaven would continue to out hit Murrah in the second and third innings as the Lady Panthers scored three runs in the second and one more run in the third inning.
Cheyenne Motley pitched the win for Ole Brook with one strikeout and three walks.
Katherine Shell sparked Brookhaven’s offensive onslaught with a grand slam home run and a solo home run. Motley continued to fuel the flames with a home run, double and a single. Jada Henderson contributed a home run and a single. Haley Speak provided three singles. Kat Wallace, Julianna Porter and Chantel Quarles ripped a pair of singles each. Hitting safely were Fallon Brooks, Shaniya Jackson, Jadeyn Fuller, Maria Wilson and Tia Bussey.
