Funeral Services for Frederick Robert Blakeney of Ferriday, Louisiana, are 2 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 29, 2014, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Bro. Larry Wagoner will officiate. Pallbearers will be Ben Williams, Eric Williams, James Hall, Andy McCaa, Rex Cothren and Hugh Mathis. Honorary pallbearers will be Brannon Peters and Wesley Hall. Young’s Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation was Thursday, Aug. 28, 2014, from 5 until 8 p.m. at Young’s Funeral Home and will continue Friday, Aug. 29, 2014, from noon until time of service at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.

Mr. Blakeney, 79, died Aug. 26, 2014, at Riverland Medical Center. He was born on Nov. 15, 1934, in Little Rock, Arkansas, to Thomas Blakeney and Rene Blakeney.

He proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He was a resident of Ferriday and retired from Union Pacific after 43 years of service.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his brother, Thomas Blakeney; and his twin-brother, Charles Blakeney.

Survivors are his wife, Bennie Louise Blakeney of Ferriday, Louisiana; sons, Ira Eugene Hall and his wife, Jennifer, of McComb, and Kevin Ray Hall and his wife, Kesha, of Monterey, Louisiana; brother, Ben Blakeney of Arkansas; nieces, Jan Peters of Bossier City, Louisiana and Barbara Blakeney; granddaughters, Ashley Hall, Heather Hall, Hazelee Hall and Elizabeth Sibley; grandsons, Braxton Hall, Fisher Hall and Jenson Fortenberry; great-grandson, Mason Martin; and a host of family and friends.
